The past few years have seen an exponential increase in global data center traffic. And it is estimated that this will grow threefold (a 25 percent CAGR) from 2012 to 2017, while global cloud traffic will grow 4.5-fold (a 35 percent CAGR) over the same period. In response to this growing demand, data center cooling technologies have not kept pace. In this white paper, you will learn about one of the latest cooling technologies...Oil Submersion Cooling. Download this white paper now to see why oil submersion cooling is more simple and industrial then previous cooling technologies.

Dinosaurs are super cool. That’s an indisputable fact. There are some places though, where dinosaurs don’t belong, and one of those is in your fast-paced DevOps environment. Early on, in the days before DevOps and Continuous Integration, one of the original players in the AppSec space produced an early SAST tool, offering a wide variety of supported languages, and they quickly built name recognition and a large install base of customers. Yet, 15 years and two acquisitions later, that company has become a software dinosaur – a mere relic – maintaining a product that is too big, too slow, and too clunky to deliver the innovation needed to protect its customers in the 21st century.

The emphasis on fast flash technology concentrates much attention on hot, frequently accessed data. However, budget pressures preclude consuming such premium-priced capacity when the access frequency diminishes. Yet many organizations do just that, unable to migrate effectively to lower cost secondary storage on a regular basis. In this white paper, explore: • How the relative proportion of hot, warm, and cooler data changes over time • New machine learning (ML) techniques that sense the cooling temperature of data throughout its half-life • The role of artificial intelligence (AI) in migrating data to the most cost-effective tier.

The average computer room today has cooling capacity that is nearly four times the IT heat load. Using data from 45 sites reviewed by Upsite Technologies, this white paper will show how you can calculate, benchmark, interpret, and benefit from a simple and practical metric called the Cooling Capacity Factor (CCF). Calculating the CCF is the quickest and easiest way to determine cooling infrastructure utilization and potential gains to be realized by AFM improvements.

An increasingly tech-savvy workforce is changing the future of work and the workplace. The workplace is now where your people are, not where they go – whether that’s the public space of a coffee shop or private space at home. Working hours are no longer standard, dictated by the tasks to be done, not by the clock. Work tools are no longer based only on workplace technology. The same cool features used in consumer devices, such as touch, are now required for workplace devices. It’s this familiar, smart technology that keeps people, across the generations, happy, productive and engaged. This dynamic IT is the foundation for a smart workplace that will enable you to attract and keep top talent – and shape the future-ready enterprise, now.

As customer expectations evolve alongside digital capabilities and channels, it’s not enough to offer cool experiences. Now they must be cool personal experiences that anticipate the customer’s needs and desires before even she knows about them. This change requires us to think much more broadly about how we use personalization. Already brands adopting strategies and tools for personalized experience design are gaining a sustainable competitive advantage over brands that aren’t.

In some cases, adopting cloud IoT platform may make more sense where required processes, communication costs and cloud costs meet sufficient total cost of ownership against deploying MDC. Additionally, in situations that an end-user organization already has a secure room or a modular data center solution where infrastructure can be housed and/or the amount of infrastructure involved may be too small to benefit from power/cooling advantages of being housed in an MDC, the organization may not see a need for an MDC. An MDC is nothing more than a smaller form of a modular data center, and a number of providers have entered the modular data center solutions space in the past. These modular data center solution providers came into the market with high expectations for growth and ROI only to find that high sales were not forthcoming due to limited use cases, so many exited the space.

Latest generation high density and variable density IT equipment create conditions that traditional data center cooling was never intended to address, resulting in cooling systems that are oversized, inefficient, and unpredictable. Room, row, and rack-based cooling methods have been developed to address these problems. This paper describes these improved cooling methods and provides guidance on when to use each type for most next generation data centers.

Suddenly, the network is cool again. Tech trends such as the Internet of Things, software-defined networking and growing end-user expectations all add up to a demand for “dialtone” network performance and reliability. But as the data deluge continues to accelerate, and as organizations continue to rely on multiple clouds to achieve business goals, how can the network keep up, much less meet tomorrow’s demands? This e-book looks at the trends that are impacting the enterprise network—the modern network—the issues it creates for NetOps professionals, and how organizations can act today to plan for tomorrow.
