Virtualization was supposed to be the disruptive technology that saved IT. The cost savings from consolidation and the ease at which applications can be deployed promised to vastly improve delivery of IT services, free up IT staff to work on other projects, and not strain budgets. Unfortunately, lack of insight into IT resource status in highly virtualized environments and the complexity of the interactions between server, storage, and network elements have added to IT staff manual workloads and led most companies to dedicate too much time to operations and not enough time to innovation. This basically negates the major benefits of virtualization.

It comprises an Express 5800 Scalable Enterprise Server Series with Intel® Xeon® processor E7 v2 family CPUs, high-performance HGST FlashMAX II PCIe server-mounted flash storage, and Microsoft® SQL Server® 2014. When compared with the previous reference architecture based on a server with the Intel® Xeon® processor E7 family CPUs, benchmark testing demonstrated a performance improvement of up to 173% in logical scan rate in a data warehouse environment. Ladevorgänge mit großen Datenmengen beendete das Dell EMC Unity 22 Prozent schneller als das HPE 3PAR. Dies kann weniger Aufwand für einen mit Data Marts betrauten Administrator bedeuten. Bei paralleler Ausführung von OLTP- und Data-Mart-Workloads übertraf das Unity-Array das HPE 3PAR im Hinblick auf verarbeitete Aufträge pro Minute um 29 Prozent.
